Jakob Tholander, PH.D. Human Computer Interaction
I am senior lecturer in media technology at the department of Communication, Technology and Design at Södertörn University College.
I do research in the areas of Interaction Design and Children, Tangible User Interfaces, Interaction Design, and Computer Supported Collaborative Learning.
My recent work has involved aspects around the notion of embodied interaction and it's conseqences for the design and study of interactive systems. I also try to contribute to discussions of these issues on a conceptual level.
I have done several projects (Playground, Weblabs, Splash) in technologies for children's programming and creative work with computational materials. These have resulted in programming libraries for the ToonTalk animated programming language, and in particular Patcher, a tangible programming space for children collaborative play with programming materials.
